[Aug 2023] Workshop: Pet Cupcake Decorating Experience - Lettering & Florals

Join us this International Dog Day and discover the art of decorating your very own pet cupcakes while connecting with fellow dog owners!

Gift yourself a new experience and learn the art of transforming pet cupcakes into beautiful pieces. In this workshop, we will cover the following:

✓ Understanding and learning how to use different types of cake-decorating tools

✓ Making of potato frosting and types of consistency (demo)

✓ Basic colour theory

✓ Mixing of mashed potato frosting with naturally derived colours

✓ Decorating tips and piping techniques to create borders, trimmings, basic floral designs, and lettering

✓ Develop and design pupcakes in your own signature style

This is an interactive experience that includes demonstrations, step-by-step guidance as well as hands-on practice.

The primary focus of this workshop will be on the decorating process, which could then be applied to decorating larger pupcakes and even cakes in your own time.

No experience in cake decorating is necessary, you’ll be supported and guided at a pace you are comfortable with. Small group size for more dedicated attention.

Each participant will take home 4 decorated pet cupcakes in the meat protein of their choice; additional mashed potato frosting; as well as recipe cards to make their own pupcakes and frosting at home!

About the Trainer

Mel has been in the art and education industry for more than a decade. She teaches art mainly to preschoolers, primary and secondary school students, and youths living in Girls' and Boys' Homes.

Her prior experience in working closely with an art psychotherapy organisation has also further shaped her teaching approach. 

She enjoys exploring, learning, and discovering new ideas. These traits has influenced the way she teaches art as well as her journey in crafting pet-cakes where she spent countless hours experimenting with various techniques and tools to achieve the details seen in her cakes.

With her passion and experience in art teaching and pet-cake decorating, Mel looks forward to sharing her knowledge with fellow pet owners so that they too are able to create creative edible artworks for their own pets and their furiends.
